Terms of Service
Plain terms for a free publication.
Luyml News is free to read. These terms cover what that means for you and for us. Effective June 5, 2026.
1. Who we are
Luyml News (“the publication,” “we”) is published by Luyml, a Sacramento, California company. How the newsroom works is described on our about page; the standards it follows are at /standards.
2. Your license to read
You may read, link to, and share our articles freely for personal, non-commercial purposes. Our content — text, photography, and data visualizations — remains the property of Luyml. For syndication, reprints, or commercial use, write to [email protected]with subject “Rights.”
3. Not professional advice
We report on health, air quality, and the environment with rigor — but journalism is not medicine. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and air-quality guidance on our pages is general information drawn from public health bodies, not a prescription for your circumstances. For decisions about your health, consult a qualified professional who knows your situation.
4. Live data, honestly presented
Figures on our instrument pages come live from public sources (Open-Meteo, USGS, EPA reference networks). We present them faithfully and show absence rather than invent a number — but we do not control those instruments and cannot guarantee their availability or accuracy. Use official emergency channels during air-quality emergencies.
5. Newsletters and your email
If you subscribe to our newsletter — directly or through Google’s one-click signup — we use your email address to send you the publication’s dispatches and for nothing else. Unsubscribe at any time. Details in our privacy policy.
6. Third-party services
We use third-party services to operate: hosting, analytics, advertising, and Google’s Reader Revenue Manager for newsletter signups and voluntary reader support. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies in addition to ours.
7. No warranty; limitation of liability
The publication is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Luyml disclaims all warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to read — which is nothing.
8. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be dated on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stand.
